"Racking is work equipment and requires to be in an efficient state, efficient working order and in good repair, as detailed in the Provision and Use of Work Equipment regulations 1998."

"Deterioration liable to result in dangerous situations must be inspected to ensure Health & Safety conditions are maintained and any deterioration is detected and remedied in good time."

A rack safety inspection is a means of identifying deterioration of pallet racking and any potentially dangerous situations. A racking safety inspection will highlight damages and detail recommendations on what to do about them. Regular rack safety inspections are a means of improving the safety of the workplace, reducing racking repair costs and increasing the longevity of your racking system.

Racking safety inspections are carried out by Health and Safety qualified personnel, experienced in both the installation and inspection of storage systems. Rack safety inspections are carried out in a systematic manner using up to date S.E.M.A guidelines and various other sources of relevant data to help compile a detailed report into the condition of pallet racking installations. Other observations that could indirectly affect the safety of the racking or the staff who work with it will also be noted. Prior to leaving site the inspector will inform the interested parties of any damage requiring immediate offloading or attention, enabling immediate control action to be implemented. A full report detailing damage requiring replacement and any related hazards requiring attention will be issued shortly afterwards.
